Spin up the Avengers Engine.
The Avengers are brought together as a swift and total response to any possible threat on any scale. They operate like a conglomerate, with splinter organizations developed according to the Avengers Threat Matrix, and can be mobilized as specialized units accordingly, or as comprehensive task forces. Welcome to the Avengers. A declaration against all possible threats.
Genre & Gameplay
The “super-teams” like Avengers and Justice League exist to confront any possible threat to Earth, the universe, and all reality. They cannot be confined by a singular genre or gameplay style.

Character Pool
The narrator decides on Avengers members based on their inclusion in the Avengers Threat Matrix. Players cannot freely join. Any vacant seats may be filled by NPC characters that the Avengers can recruit and deploy by spending Karma.
Avengers Threat Matrix
The Avengers Engine was designed to ensure that the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes could address any threat to the planet. The Matrix is comprised of twelve threat types: Biological, Cosmic, Martial, Mutant, Mystical, Mythical, Scientific, Strategic, Subterfuge, Technological, Temporal, and Theoretical. Each threat corresponds to an “inner spoke” of the Engine chaired by a hero fit to address that threat.
Each chair can nominate and staff their spokes however they wish.
